The National Procurement Strategy for Local Government
This document, published by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in October 2003 sets out the guide lines for procurement within Local Government.
Electronic Trading or e-procurment is just one of the areas covered and states that by 2005 all councils must be procuring electronically, in addition that by 2006; all councils should have access to an appropriate emarketplace with access to a competitive number of suppliers
